BYRD is the newly founded Film and TV production arm of Topcut Modiano, one of the oldest production houses in Greece that has also co-produced a number of features including Yorgos Lanthimos’ first film Kinetta [Toronto IFF 2005, Berlin IFF 2006], Babis Makridis’ L [Sundance 2012, Rotterdam 2012, Karlovy Vary IFF 2012], Phedon Papamichael’s Arcadia Lost [São Paulo IFF 2010] and his most recent Light Falls [PÖFF 2023].

Continuing the company’s legacy in cinema and under the new structure, BYRD has completed VR project The Exploding Girl (Caroline Poggi, Jonathan Vinel) official selection in the Cannes Immersive Competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, documentary Dogwatch (Gregoris Rentis, 2022) [Silver Alexander award at Thessaloniki, Visions Du Réel, True/False, Raindance] and multi -awarded short films Super (Nikolas Kouloglou, 2023) [Busan International Short FF, PÖFF Shorts] and Pendulus (Dimitris Gotsis, 2022). BYRD 2023 slate has been funded by Creative Europe Media.
